The Peacock women and men's track and field teams battled cool weather, wind and rain in Dubuque, Iowa on Wednesday afternoon at the Easter Mid-Week event hosted by Loras College. No team scores were kept at the event, but the Peacocks won two events, earned runner-up honors twice and placed in the top eight 18 times on the women's side and seven times in the men's events.

Both
Jaylen Hobson and
Maddie Stevens earned event titles. Hobson won the triple jump with a mark of 13.55 meters and claimed runner-up honors in the long jump with a leap of 6.60 meters. Stevens won the 400m race in a time of 59.11 seconds, while
Brianna Crouch notched a second-place finish in the 1500m race.

Other highlights on the men's side included
Kai Bateman's efforts in the triple jump and long jump where he placed second (13.42m) and eighth (6.23m), respectively.
Nathan Goranson claimed third place in the 800m race in a time of 1:59.69, while
Macklin Conrad grabbed the fourth best throw in the javelin (42.6m).

In the women's events,
Nailea Espinoza grabbed fourth place in the 100m dash in 12.53 seconds, while Stevens also placed fifth in the 200m race in a time of 25.62 seconds. In addition to Stevens' win in the 400m,
Zakaria Fuller ran the fourth-fastest time of 1:02.82 and the 4x100m relay team of Espinoza, Fuller,
Jordan Sekafetz and Stevens notched a fourth-place run in 49.8 seconds.

The Peacocks will get back on the track in a week and a half when they head to Cedar Rapids, Iowa for an event at Mount Mercy University on Saturday, Apr. 23.
