The Peacock wrestling team competed at the Auggie Invitational at Augsburg University in Minneapolis, Minn. on Saturday. Upper Iowa claimed two Gold Bracket titles and added three runner-ups, three third-place finishers, one fourth place winner and eight fifth-place finishers.
 
The team scored 15 pins, the second-most at the invite, and posted a 64.6% winning percentage with 68 victories in their 106 bouts.
 
Chase Luensman continued his hot start to the season with a second-straight bracket title at 165 pounds. Three wins in three tries for the Monticello, Iowa product moves his season record to 7-0. Luensman scored a win by fall (4:21) and a 13-2 major to reach the finals where he defeated Matt Rogge of Augsburg 5-1.
 
Eric Faught claimed the title at 157 pounds with a perfect 5-0 day. Faught scored an early decision and then three-straight falls to earn his shot at the bracket championship. In the finals, Faught outlasted Drake Hayward of Minnesota State University, Mankato 8-6 in sudden victory.
 
Kaden Anderlik grabbed second place at 133 pounds with a 3-1 record with a tech fall (21-6) and a fall (2:16) on his way to the semifinals. In the title bout, Anderlik lost 5-4 to Ty Bisek of Concordia College – Moorhead. Tate Murty also placed second at 141 pounds with a pair of falls that earned the Fountain City, Wis. native a place in the finals. In his last match, Sam Stuhl claimed a 7-3 decision over Murty. The third Peacock to grab a runner-up spot was heavyweight Zach Ryg. Ryg went 2-1 on the day with a 5-3 decision and a 7-1 win in sudden victory. Tyler Kim of Augsburg edged Ryg in the finals with a 7-2 win.
 
Ethen Doty (Gold 149 / 2-1), Scott Kellenberger (Gold 174 / 3-1), Lawson Losee (Freshman 165 / 2-1 with a major) all finished in their respective weight classes.
