The Peacock women and men's track and field teams got back on the track in Decorah, Iowa at Carlson Stadium on the campus of Luther College for the Norse Invite on Saturday. The meet saw four Upper Iowa program records fall, two individual event champions, and 13 Peacocks that placed in the top-three of their respective events.

The Record Breakers…
Teddy Ayden had a big day breaking both the UIU records for the 100-meter and 200-meter races. Ayden's time of 10.71 seconds topped the field in the 100-meters, while his run of 21.39 seconds in the 200-meters was second-best by .02 seconds to Brent Heilman of the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Both times beat the Carlson Stadium record of 21.49 seconds set by Kevin Coy of Loras College. Ayden's mark of 21.39 seconds in the final is the fastest time in the Northern Sun Conference this season.

Cassiddy Wilson won the 400-meter race in a time of 58.34 seconds to win the event and break Upper Iowa's program record in the race. Wilson ran a time of 1:01.00 in the prelims, but shaved nearly three seconds off her trip around the track in the finals.

Ellie Loesch was the final Peacock record breaker in the 200-meter race. Loesch placed second in the finals thanks to her program-record time of 25.74 seconds.

More Highlights from the Women's Events…
In the women's 200-meters, the Peacocks had four in the top-ten including Ruth Joseph (6
th-26.52),
Zakaria Fuller (7
th-26.68) and Wilson (10
th-27.90). Loesch and Fuller also ran well in the 400-meters behind Wilson's victory. Loesch placed third in a time of 1:00.37 and Fuller came in seventh with a time of 1:01.58.

Christonna Shafranski finished third in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:23.31, while
Madison Brownrigg cracked the top-ten in the 1500-meter run crossing the line at 5:18.10 for tenth place.
Serianna Dehmlow placed third in the 5K race in a time of 20:35.51, and
Ashley Donovan finished the 3K stepplechase in third thanks to a time of 13:13.96.

In the high jump, the Peacocks placed sixth and seventh behind
Jade Martin (1.45m) and
Jocelyn Grecco (1.45m).

More Highlights from the Men's Events…
Paul Marchand placed second by 18-hundreths of a second behind Ayden in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.89 seconds.
Kaden Ludwig and Marchand finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 200-meter race in times of 22.21 and 22.28 seconds and
Cameron Green came across in ninth place in 22.48 seconds. Ludwig placed second in the 400-meter race as well in a time of 50.05 seconds, while Green placed fourth (50.90) and
Deion Jones finished eighth in a time of 51.90.

Nathan Goranson finished fifth in 1500-meter race in a time of 4:12.58, while
Brady Krupa and
Collin Kime placed fifth and eighth in the 110-meter hurdles with times of 16.80 and 18.80 seconds.
Andrew Paskey finished second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.27, and
Grant Dieken placed second in the 3K steeplechase in a time of 10:27.34.

Jaylen Hobson hit a mark of 6.76 meters in the long jump to place second and Krupa and
Nicholas Trimuel followed with a seventh and eighth place finish, respectively, with leaps of 6.18 and 6.10 meters. Hobson also finished fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 13.21 meters. In the shot put,
Caden Wendt finished sixth with a throw of 12.87 meters and
Devon Lawrence placed tenth with a throw of 11.34 meters. Wendt and Lawrence also got into the top-ten in the hammer throw in eighth and tenth, respectively, after throws of 36.98 and 35.76 meters.

Upper Iowa will compete in their final tune up prior to the Northern Sun Conference Championships next Friday, May 7 at the Dr. Tucker Invite hosted by Loras College at the Rock Bowl in Dubuque, Iowa. The NSIC Championships are set for Friday and Saturday, May 14-15 in Duluth, Minn.
