Upper Iowa took part in post-season play at the GLVC Championship in Belleville, Ill. on Mar. 19-21. The Peacocks placed fourth after two days of competition against four conference opponents. Upper Iowa exceeded expectations around the league as UIU was selected sixth in the preseason coaches poll at begining of the academic year.
On Friday, Upper Iowa faced off with the third-seeded University of Central Missouri to begin the day. The Peacocks fell short to the Mules 870-799 in traditional play and 922-840 in team baker format. After the loss, the Peacocks moved to the first round of the competitor's bracket where they defeated seventh-seeded Quincy University. UIU struggled at first, falling 839-710 in traditional play before beating QU 889-726 in baker team play and sweeping the Hawks 4-0 in a baker best four of seven set to claim the win.
On Saturday, the Peacocks met the five seed, Drury University in the second round of the competitor's bracket. Upper Iowa first fell 912-853 in traditional play. UIU rebounded in the five team baker games winning the set 902-860 and forcing a third round. In the best of seven baker set, Upper Iowa snuck away with a series win in the final seventh game to advance and face the two-seeded Maryville University in the competitor's bracket quarterfinals. In traditional play, Maryville picked up the win 1036-818 and in baker team play, the Peacocks fell 932-797.
Individually the Peacocks performed as followed, Isabelle Bergsbaken (662), Deanna Hopkins (655), Kendra Anifer (612), Ashlyn Burkeybile (594), Alyssa Bilak (498), and Denyse Turnquist (138).
