The Upper Iowa women's bowling team are looking to make their mark on postseason play as they compete at the 2023 Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship Tournament.  The competition begins on March 24 at Strike N Spare II in Lockport, Illinois and will conclude on March 26.

Fans who cannot attend in person will be treated to over 18 hours of live and free coverage on the GLVC Sports Network. GLVCSN coverage of the Conference Tournament can be seen on all GLVCSN platforms, including GLVCSN.com, GLVCSN iOS or Android mobile apps, and GLVCSN OTT apps on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, and Android TV.

The Peacocks will hit the lanes with the other seven members of the GLVC: University of Central Missouri, Lewis University, Maryville University, McKendree University, Newman University, and Quincy University.  Five of those teams are represented in the latest NTCA poll. McKendree remain the number one team in the nation, followed by Maryville (8), Newman (13), UCM (17), and Lewis (RV).  As the number six seed, UIU will face the three seed in Newman in the first round at 8:30 a.m. on Friday.

For the season, sophomore Aubrey Kiddle leads the Peacocks with an average of 186.3 pins per game in 37 games bowled this season. Michaela Morgan is second on the team with an average of 179.3 pins per game in 31 games bowled this season, including the top high game on the team this season of 234. Dana Murata rounds out the top three with an average of 176.2 pins per game in 19 games bowled this season. Emma Hawley, Abigail Matula, Joanna Olstad, Samantha Percha, and Natalie Prohaska will join those three in Lockport this weekend.

The 2022-23 season has seen UIU set several new program marks. The Peacocks finished in second place at the Hawk Classic with a 9-2 overall record, their highest finish and most wins at an event in program history. Earlier this year, UIU hosted and finished third overall at the Peacock Classic, which included a new program record for pins in a single match when the team knocked over 1,079 pins in their win over Newman. The Peacocks are three wins away from recording their 100th win as a program.

The GLVC tournament will feature a double-elimination format, with each match consisting of three legs, including a traditional single-game total, a five-game Baker Format total, and a best-of-seven Baker Format total.

For spectators traveling to Lockport, attendance will be $12 for adults, $5 for students with ID and youth aged 6-17, while children 5 and under will be admitted for free. Tickets must be purchased in advance at GLVCsports.com/tickets, and no cash will be accepted on site.
