The Upper Iowa men's cross country team completed their season on Saturday at the DII NCAA Central Regional Championships.
The meet took place on the campus of Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Missouri and the 10k race featured teams from 31 different schools.
Augustana University finished as the top team with an average time of 30:02. They were followed by Missouri Southern (30:14) and Pittsburgh State (30:25). Ryan Riddle of Missouri Southern finished with the top individual time at 29:22.30.
"The men's team ran well today and were able to compete throughout the race. They made moves when they had to, but unfortunately, things did not break our way at the end of the race. It was a good team effort to end the season," said Head Coach
Nate Rucker.
As a team, UIU finished 31
st with an average time of 35:30. However,
Dalton Baker and
Nathan Goranson each broke the previous program record with times of 34:25.20 and 34:40.10, respectively. Blake Smith (35:47.90),
Grant Dieken (36:02.20),
Bryce Baker (36:33.50),
David Snider (36:55.80), and
Brady Johnston (38:52.40) also competed for the Peacocks.
