The Upper Iowa men's cross country team put themselves to the test against the best teams in the conference at the NSIC Championships on Saturday. The meet took place at Wayne Country Club in Wayne, Nebraska and the 8k race featured other teams from 14 different schools.
Augustana University once again finished as the top team with an average time of 25:01.31. They were followed by the University of Mary (25:56.99) and the University of Sioux Falls (26:11.83). Austin Miller of Augustana finished with the top time at 24:48.65.
As a team, UIU finished in 14
th place with an average time of 29:07.62.
Dalton Baker finished with the top time at 28:08.91 and he was followed by
David Snider (29:06.16) and
Bryce Baker (29:53.83). Blake Smith (30:15.80) and
Grant Dieken (30:18.30) also competed for the Peacocks.
"The team started off strong today but just didn't have enough left in the tank at the end," said Head Coach
Nate Rucker. "This is still a young team, and while we have much to improve on. I'm encouraged about their progress."
Up next, the Upper Iowa men's team will compete at the NCAA Central Regional which takes place in Joplin, Missouri on November 6
th.
