The Upper Iowa volleyball team earned the No. 22 spot in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II Top-25 poll for the second week in a row, but picked up an additional 40 votes following a split against ranked opponents in last week's action. The Peacocks enter the new week with 16-7 overall record and 8-7 mark in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference, and will have three total matches in the next six days. 

The Peacocks are joined by seven NSIC opponents in the rankings; Minnesota Duluth (No. 5), Concordia-St. Paul (No. 6), Northern State (No. 7), St. Cloud State (No. 8), Wayne State (No. 13), Winona State (No. 16), and Southwest Minnesota State (No. 18) are all nationally ranked as well. Augustana (62 votes) and Minnesota State (12 votes) sit just outside the poll. 

Upper Iowa is coming off a split in last week's action; the Peacocks came up with a big sweep over the No. 16 Warriors on Thursday evening in Fayette but later dropped a straight-set loss to the No. 6 Golden Bears. UIU was led offensively by Anna Winter (22 kills) and Kaitlin Niedert (20 kills) and defensively by libero Haley Weepie (30 digs) and middle blocker Claire Milnes (4 blocks). Carlee Ketchum paced the attack with 65 assists. 

The Peacocks have a crucial matchup with Minnesota State on Monday evening as both teams are tied for 8th place in conference standings along with SMSU. While UIU will also face Bemidji State and Minnesota Crookston later in this week's action, MSU is scheduled to play SCSU and UMD, and SMSU has games against Wayne State, Northern State and MSU Moorhead.
