Box Score Upper Iowa and St. Cloud State University waited a day and a half to finally get on the field in Fayette, but after 11 innings, the teams will wait until Monday for the first game's decision. Darkness forced a suspension of the game with the two teams tied 5-5.

The Huskies scratched the scoreboard first with a run in the opening frame. Woven in between a pair of outs, St. Cloud State knocked a pair of base hits and loaded the bases with a walk. The run scored when Matt Meyer was hit by a pitch to force Jordan Joseph to the plate.
SCSU sent eight batters to the plate in the fourth inning using four hits to score four runs. The big hit of the inning came on a three-run homer to left center off the bat of Joseph. Jackson Goplen added an rbi-single two batters later to cap off the scoring in the fourth.
The Peacocks loaded the bases with a hit batsmen and two straight singles by Cal Seehase and
Tony Salato in the bottom of the fifth inning to load the bases with no outs. The first runner came across the plate on a wild pitch and the second came home on an infield single off the bat of
Dominic Hillesheim that rolled up the middle to leave runners on the corners with no outs. After a strikeout, Zackary Cain slapped a single through the right side to plate Salato and pull the home team within two, 5-3. A pair of strikeouts ended the Peacock threat as the game moved to the sixth.
Emmett Kulick pinch hit to lead off the sixth inning and homered over the wall in right field to pull the home team within one, 5-4.
The home team threatened again in the eighth inning. With one out,
Brenden Butler doubled to the gap in right center to give UIU a chance. A pair of flyouts ended the threat and left the Peacocks a run shy still.
Upper Iowa tied the game in the bottom of the ninth before getting a hit in the inning. Salto led off with a walk and moved to second on a sac bunt by Hillesheim. With two outs, a wild pitch allowed Salato to reach third. When the throw to get him at third got away, the third baseman couldn't get out of the way and Salato was given home plate due to interference. The game moved into extra innings after the close of the inning tied at 5-all.
The game will resume on Monday at noon. The teams will take care of completing game one of the series first and then reset and play a double header. The games are moving south to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The action will take place at the baseball field on the Mount Mercy University campus.
Brett Fanning started for UIU and threw 8 innings allowing 5 runs on 7 hits while striking out 5 Huskies.
Tyus Adkins threw well in relief with 2.2 innings on the hill allowing no runs and just one hit.
Tanner Poor was the pitcher of record when the game was suspended; he got the final out in the eleventh inning.
Zackary Cain had three hits in the game, while Salato, Hillesheim, Kulick and Seehase all had two apiece.
