GREENWOOD, Ind. - Upper Iowa Baseball's Gabe Bombardier, Kyle Hrncir, Isaiah Maes, Thane Meiners and Brock Zimmer were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic-All District® Team for baseball. 

With the five players honored, UIU baseball reached the maximum number of honorees per program. The CSC Academic All-America® Teams will be announced on Tuesday, June 23. 

To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically while accumulating a 3.50 grade point average or above. For baseball, eligible Student-athletes must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings.  

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Baseball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. 

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.

#17 Gabe Bombardier (IF, 6-3, Sr., Farmington, Minn. / Farmington HS)

• Week Two GLVC Player of the Week (2/17)
• Started in 46 games slashing .313/.387/.557
• Totaled 13 doubles and tied for a team-high 10 homers
• Led the team in hits with 55 and RBIs with 57
• Posted the eighth-most RBIs and sixth-most RBIs per game in the GLVC

#4 Kyle Hrncir (RHP/IF, 6-5, R-Jr., Farmington, Minn. / Farmington HS)

• CSC Academic-All District®
• Appeared in 24 games with 23 starts
• Tied for the team lead in strikeouts with 55
• Ranked fourth in the GLVC in strikeouts per nine innings
• Recorded a 5.36 ERA in 48.2 innings while allowing an opposing .258 batting average
• Totaled 10 hits, four RBIs and scored nine runs as a two-way player at the plate

#2 Isaiah Maes (RHP, 6-0, Sr., Queen Creek, Ariz. / Gilbert HS)

• Appeared in 10 games with nine starts
• Totaled 27 strikeouts in 35.1 innings pitched
• Threw a season-high five strikeouts against Lincoln (Mo.) (3/14) and UIndy (3/29) 

#1 Thane Meiners (IF, 6-0, Sr., Caledonia, Minn. / Caledonia HS)

• CSC Academic-All District®
• Started 46 games while slashing .311/.301/.401
• Recorded seven doubles, one triple and two home runs while totaling 52 hits
• Accumulated 30 RBIs and scored 35 runs

#22 Brock Zimmer (IF, 6-2, Sr., Hopkins, Minn. / Hopkins HS)

• Started all 47 games while slashing .293/.402/.491
• Tallied 12 doubles, seven home runs and 36 RBIs
• Totaled 49 hits and tied for a team-high 44 runs scored
