Box Score 3 Full recaps to follow after the tabulation of all stats from the weekend. The Upper Iowa baseball team couldn't have asked for a better start to their 2016 season. The Peacocks swept a three-game series at LeMoyne-Owen College in Memphis, Tenn. which included a double header (two seven-inning games) on Saturday and a single nine-inning game on Sunday.
UIU won game one 24-1 behind starter
Brett Fanning, who returned to the mound for the first time since opening day last year. Fanning only threw 1.1 innings last season when a ball back up the middle ended his season with a leg injury. The Peacocks then took game two, 15-0, in support of starter
Tyus Adkins. On Sunday,
Mitch Moser climbed the hill and UIU kept their hot-hitting at the plate to win 21-6. In total the Peacocks outscored the Magicians 60-7 in the three games.
Upper Iowa will now wait until the University's spring break when they play 8 games from Mar. 6-12 in Clearwater, Fla. at the Winning Inning Invitational.
