THIS WEEKEND IN PEACOCK MEN'S BASKETBALL…
The Peacocks (5-3, 2-0 NSIC) will hit the road for the first time in conference play as they take on a pair of NSIC South opponents. UIU will stop in St. Paul, Minn. to square off with the Concordia-St. Paul Golden Bears on Friday night before heading to Mankato, Minn. to battle the Minnesota State Mavericks on Saturday night. Both games are scheduled to start at 8 p.m.

PEACOCK STORYLINES...
GET YOUR BROOMS OUT: Upper Iowa picked up a pair of thrilling two-point wins to open up NSIC play last weekend in Fayette. The Peacocks handed the Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs their first loss of the season, 77-75 on Friday night as
Jordan Hay hit a pair of free throws with seven seconds left. UIU came back with a 78-76 victory over Sioux Fall to start 2-0 in league play for the first time since the 2012-13 season. Upper Iowa has its first four-game winning streak for the first time since the 2013-14 campaign as well.
GRINDING IT OUT: Three of the five Peacock victories this season have been decided by four points or less. Upper Iowa defeated Grand Valley State in Rensselaer, Ind. over Thanksgiving weekend, 76-72, and opened up league play with a pair of two-point wins over SMSU and USF.
EVERYBODY SAY "HAY": Redshirt senior
Jordan Hay is having quite the season after coming off an injury in 2015-16. The forward is second on the team in scoring (11.3 PPG) after averaging 14.0 last weekend. The Stanwood, Iowa product leads the team in rebounding (6.5 RPG) and ranks fourth in the NSIC with 9 total blocks on the season.

THE SERIES…
vs CONCORDIA-ST. PAUL: Upper Iowa trails the all-time series 14-11 after splitting a pair of games last season. UIU has won three of the last four in the series.
vs MINNESOTA STATE: The Peacocks trail the series 20-1, with the lone win coming in 2012 when Jake Hughes hit a game-winner with 0.4 seconds left and gave UIU a 61-60 victory over the then-#20 Mavericks.

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS…
CONCORDIA-ST. PAUL: The Golden Bears closed out the non-conference slate last week with their third straight win, topping Michigan Tech. CSP then dropped to both Augustana and Wayne State on the road in NSIC play. Through the first eight games, CSP is a perfect 3-0 at home, but 0-5 on the road.
MINNESOTA STATE: The Mavericks went 1-1 on the road this past weekend as it defeated Wayne State 77-72, before falling to Augustana 83-81. Junior Charlie Brown averaged a team-leading 19 points per game, while seniors Jon Fuqua and Aarias Austin each averaged 14.5 points a game.
