THIS WEEK IN PEACOCK MEN'S SOCCER
UIU starts the second round through the MIAA after going 2-2 the first time around. The Peacocks will host No. 15 Northeastern State on Friday, Oct. 23, and Southwest Baptist on Sunday, Oct. 25, in Fayette this weekend as a part of Family Weekend. Sunday's match against SBU will also be Senior Day as Upper Iowa celebrates 12 Peacocks who will be playing their final game on Pattison Field. Upper Iowa defeated Southwest Baptist in their conference opener earlier this year on Sept. 24, beating the Bearcats 1-0 in overtime. Two days later, the Peacocks made program history with a 1-0 victory over Northeastern State. In UIU's fourth season of MIAA conference play, it marked the first time Upper Iowa had beaten the RiverHawks, who had won the first four games in the series between the two teams.
LAST WEEK IN PEACOCK MEN'S SOCCER
Upper Iowa (9-3-1, 2-2 MIAA) earned its second straight 4-0 victory when they defeated the Prairie Stars of Illinois Springfield on Wednesday afternoon. UIU had four different players find the back of the net, with two goals in each half. Then the Peacocks lost 2-1 in double overtime to the Oakland City Mighty Oaks on Sunday afternoon in a game played in Springfield, Ill.

KEY NOTES TO CONSIDER
1 SENIOR SALUTE: This weekend, the Peacocks say farewell to 12 players who will be playing their final matches at Pattison Field. The 12 have played in a combined 585 games and made 396 combined starts. They have scored 70 goals, tallied 48 assists, taken 584 shots and placed 239 of those on frame. Over the last four years, they have accumulated 32 wins and a pair of MIAA tournament bids.
2 BACKLINE POINTS: UIU's backs have gotten in on the scoring this season for the Peacocks. Two off the backline have at least a goal and an assist as Rhys Williams has found the net four times and added an assist, while Sebastian Smith has one goal and three assists. Logan Dahnert has also added a goal and Hugo Alves tallied one assist.3 STOP THE SCORE: While Upper Iowa has averaged nearly the same number of goals per match offensively from last season, the biggest change for UIU has been the number of goals allowed. In the 2014-15 season, the Peacocks surrendered 27 goals, or 1.42 per match, while this season Upper Iowa has held opponents to 10 total goals or 0.77 goals per game.
ABOUT THE OPPONENTS
vs. NORTHEASTERN STATE: The No. 15-ranked Northeastern State RiverHawks (9-3-0, 3-1-0 MIAA) earned the top spot in the initial NCAA Central Region rankings, the National Collegiate Athletics Association announced Wednesday afternoon.
vs. SOUTHWEST BAPTIST: The Bearcats (0-12, 0-4 MIAA) are winless this season, but have taken three games to overtime and lost a handful more by a lone goal this season.
