Upper Iowa dominated Friday night's NSIC cross-division battle with the Golden Eagles of the University of Minnesota Crookston, 97-66. The team got contributions from 12 Peacocks in the scoring column led by four in double figures. Josh Weeber led the way with 19, while Grant Lang (15), Joey Woods (13) and Bo Pagel (10) all joined in him in double digits.

Through the first five minutes, the Peacocks and Golden Eagles were tied, 8-8, but five straight points from Jordan Hay pushed UIU ahead and the team never let the lead go. Upper Iowa ran their lead out to 11 points, 25-14, highlighted by a three-pointer and a pair of free throws from Trevor Hook. After the home team pulled with five, 25-20, with 6:32 to play in the half, Upper Iowa raced out to their largest lead of the first half, 41-24, right before the first half buzzer. The visitors outscored their hosts 16-6 over the final six minutes led by six points from Bo Pagel.

UIU kept the pressure up in the second half pushing their lead to 24 points, 58-34, over the first five minutes as the offense poured in 17 points in the opening minutes. Weeber led the Peacock charge with 10 points including a pair of trifectas to open the second stanza. A three-pointer by Jimmy Roth pushed the Peacocks ahead by 28 points, 73-45, at the midway point of the second half. The Peacock offense continued to fire on all cylinders throughout the second half. The team claimed their largest lead of the game on the final score by Nick Soyer giving the team a 31-point victory.

UIU shot over 50% as a team from the floor and hit 13 trifectas including 8 in the second half, in which they scored 56 points. Upper Iowa's defense was stout in the first half holding their hosts to just 26 points while building a 15-point advantage.

The Peacocks also held advantages of 29-9 in points off turnovers and 26-2 in second chance points.
