LIVE STATS || LIVE VIDEO

THIS WEEK IN PEACOCK WRESTLING…
The Peacocks will open their home slate Thursday night in Dorman Gym with a dual against the Warriors of Waldorf College. Waldorf is receiving votes in the latest NAIA poll and boasts a pair of nationally-ranked wrestlers in Bo Bettinson (125, #7) and Brock Binversie (184, #10). After tonight's dual, UIU will head to Decorah for the Luther Open on Saturday. Matches at Luther College will begin at 9 a.m. and run all day.

PEACOCKS IN THE POLLS... Upper Iowa is currently ranked 7th in the latest NWCA Top 20 Poll and two individuals are also ranked in the top 8 in the nation. The ranked Peacocks are Blake Sorensen (174, #2) and Carl Broghammer (197, #1).

HANGING WITH MR. COOPER.. The Northern Sun Conference handed out their weekly awards on Monday and 149-pounder Edwin Cooper was named the NSIC Wrestler of the Week. Cooper went 4-0 and scored 29.5 points thanks to four bonus-point victories in his debut for the Peacocks at the Loras Open in Dubuque, Iowa. The transfer from Iowa Central earned wins by fall in his first two matches, a technical fall victory (17-2) in the semis and then defeated Kyle Williams of McKendree by fall just 1:42 seconds into the match. His three wins by fall came in a total time of 7:46 (4:04, 2:00, 1:42).

HAMMER TIME... One of the nation's most dominant wrestlers a year ago, redshirt senior Carl Broghammer returns for his final season in an Upper Iowa singlet. The two-time NCAA Division II All-American opened his final season in style at the Loras Open. Broghammer was impressive going 3-0 with a pair of wins by fall (1:40, 4:23) to reach the finals. The two-time NCAA third-place finisher won the 197-pound title thanks to an 8-3 decision over Ricky Robertson of the University of Wisconsin.

LAST TIME THEY MET... Upper Iowa dominated Waldorf College last year in Dorman Gym posting a 53-0 win over the Warriors marking the seventh shutout under Head Coach Heath Grimm's leadership. Thanks to seven wins by fall, a pair of major decisions and a win by decision the Peacocks won all ten matches.

PEACOCK PERFECTIONS UNDER GRIMM... Under Grimm, now in his fourteenth season as the Peacock leader, the Upper Iowa has posted shutouts in six different seasons. Upper Iowa defeated Knox College 54-0 and Illinois College 57-0 in Grimm's first year at the helm. The Peacocks defeated UNC Pembroke 47-0 at the National Duals in 2006, Northern State University 45-0 in an NSIC dual in 2007, a perfect 60-0 shutout of Wagner in 2009 at the Sprawl and Brawl Duals and a 41-0 NSIC dual win over MSU Moorhead in 2010.
