Peacocks Set to Defend Pattison This Sunday and Wednesday

This Week in Peacock Soccer...

 

The Upper Iowa Men’s Soccer team opens the month of October this week with a 4-4-2 record and hosts a pair of matches on Pattison Field in Fayette.

 

The Peacocks open their week on Sunday when they get a return match from the University of Mary.  The match is slated for 11 a.m. in Fayette.  UIU won the first match between the two teams earlier this season, 1-0.

 

Then on Wednesday, the Peacocks host the Cardinals of St. Mary’s University at Pattison Field in Fayette for a 4 p.m. clash.

 

UIU closed out the month of September last week by splitting a pair of road contests.  The Peacocks defeated Cardinal Stritch in Milwaukee, Wisconsin before dropping Friday’s match to UW-Superior, 1-0.

Scouting the Marauders

The Marauders of U-Mary enter Sunday’s match with an 0-8-0 record and have been outscored 20-5 in those eight matches.

U-Mary dropped their last contest 3-2 against Rocky Mountain College in Billings, Montana.

Scouting the Cardinals

St. Mary’s enters Saturday’s match with Concordia College carrying a 2-8-0 record and have lost their last seven matches and have been outscored 24-7 in those seven matches.

Series History

Since Upper Iowa transitioned to NCAA Division II, the Peacocks are 2-4 against U-Mary and 2-1 versus St. Mary’s (MN) in men’s soccer.

The Last Meeting

The Peacocks and Marauders last met on September 6 in Bismarck, ND.  UIU won the match 1-0.

Last season, the Peacocks and Cardinals played on October 15 with Upper Iowa winning the match 4-1.

G-OEL!!!

Peacock forward Derek Oelmann recorded a hat trick on September 19 against Cornell College as Upper Iowa dominated the Rams, 6-0.

Oelmann’s three goals is the first hat trick for the Peacocks since Joey Gay recorded four goals against William Penn on October 20, 1999.
