This Week in Men’s Basketball...

The Men’s Basketball team hits the road this Thanksgiving Weekend as they travel to St. Paul, Minn. to compete in the 2010 Radisson Roseville Thanksgiving Basketball Classic hosted by Concordia-St. Paul.  The Peacocks open the classic by playing Academy of Art on Friday before closing out the two-day event by battling Valley City State.  Both contests are scheduled for 5 p.m.

Scouting the Urban Knights
The Academy of Art enters Friday’s matchup with an 0-2 record and have been picked to finish last in the PacWest Conference after finishing last season with an overall record of 0-26.

Academy of Art is located in San Francisco, California and are led offensively by junior forward Keith Davis who averages 17 point per game.

Scouting the Vikings
The Valley City State Vikings enter Friday’s contest against Concordia-St. Paul with a 3-5 record and have dropped a pair of games this season versus Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference opponents (UM, Crookston and MSU Moorhead).

The NAIA affiliate from Valley City, North Dakota was the 2009-10 Dakota Athletic Conference Champions.

Series History
The Peacocks have never played Academy of Art or Valley City State since transitioning to NCAA Division II.

Looking Ahead

Upper Iowa opens NSIC play next Saturday, Dec. 4 against the #5-ranked Warriors of Winona State University.  Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. inside McCown Gymnasium in Winona, Minnesota.
