Italo Martins Soares, as well as Stan Cargill, played big roles in UIU's first victory in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference on Sunday. Martins Soares scored UIU's lone goal in Friday's 3-1 loss to Saginaw Valley State, but scored a goal and handed out an assist in Sunday's win, while Cargill put two goals in during UIU's 5-3 come-from-behind win against Northwood.
