Carl Broghammer (197, #2 NWCA) went 3-1 over the weekend at the 2014 NCAA DII Central Super Regional hosted by the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Okla.  On Friday, Broghammer became Upper Iowa's all-time leader in wins with a 2-0 record on the day. Tack on a another win during Saturday’s action and the 197-pounder has now accumulated 138 wins in his career surpassing UIU Hall of Famer Cliff Thompson, who racked up 136 wins from 1998-2002.

On Friday, Broghammer tied the record as he won his first match by fall (2:03) and then picked up a 3-2 win by decision over Kenny Breaux of Lindenwood to surpass Thompson and take over sole possession of the record. On Saturday, Broghammer earned a win in his semifinal matchup, but lost a two-point decision in the finals to the only wrestler ranked ahead of him in the latest national poll.

Broghammer will join four other Peacocks who punched their tickets to the NCAA Division II Championships in Cleveland, Ohio on Mar. 14-15.
