Whitney Kieffer averaged 19.7 points per game this week as Upper Iowa opened their season with a 1-2 record. With a pair of free throws in UIU's win over Wartburg, Kieffer became the 11th women's basketball at Upper Iowa to join the 1,000-point club. The Scales Mound, Ill. native is only the second junior at UIU to reach the high mark and she did it in just 58 games. She now has 1,030 in her career. Kieffer shot 45.2% from the floor and added 5 rebounds, 3 steals and 2.3 assists per game.
