FAYETTE, Iowa - Peacock men's soccer hits the road to take on a pair of GLVC opponents. UIU faces Illinois Springfield (1-7-1, 1-4-1 GLVC) on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. and faces Southwest Baptist (Mo.) (4-3-2, 1-3-2 GLVC) on Saturday at 2:30 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
Upper Iowa recorded a loss and a draw in last week's matchups. The team lost, 3-1, to Maryville (Mo.) (7-2-1, 5-0-1 GLVC) on Wednesday and tied, 3-3, with Rockhurst (Mo.) (3-4-3, 2-2-3 GLVC) on Saturday.
Petter Hansen recorded a goal in the 37th minute for the Saints. Midfielder Timur Nagy answered during the 55th minute, scoring off passes from forward Nahum Ghyslain Wellot Samba and midfielder Pedro Campanha Buccini. MU took home the 3-1 victory after adding goals during the 59th and 85th minutes.
The Peacocks drew, 3-3, with the Hawks after Wellot Samba netted an equalizer with 14 seconds left in the game. Buccini and defender Arnas Kurakinas each earned an assist.
Sebastian Camargo connected for a goal during the fifth minute off passes from forward Benjamin Wendel and Buccini. Forward Jannik Schlegel scored in the 49th minute off assists from Nagy and Buccini.
Through both contests, Nagy totaled five shots with three on goal, an assist and a goal. Wellot Samba posted three shots with two on goal, a goal and an assist. Camargo and Schlegel both scored a goal.
Kurakinas recorded three shots with two on goal and an assist. Buccini boasted four assists and a shot on goal. Wendel, forward Alejandro Suarez and midfielder Jeremiah Alomo all took a shot. Goalkeeper Noah Nymark-Pedersen posted eight saves.
STATISTICAL LEADERS
Nagy leads the team with three goals, 14 shots, eight shots on goal and eight points. Buccini has a team-high four assists. His assist total is tied for a GLVC-most. Nymark-Pedersen posts a team-best and league second-best 41 saves.
UIU has taken 73 shots with 40 shots on goal and 26 corner kicks. The team has collected 10 assists. The Peacocks tied for fourth in the GLVC in saves with 41.
AROUND THE GLVC
Drury (Mo.) (7-1-1, 5-0-1 GLVC) and Maryville are tied for a GLVC high of 16 points. Quincy (Ill.) (5-1-4, 4-0-3 GLVC) has the second most amount of points with 15.
Leo Cann of Quincy leads the league with 45 shots and 23 shots on goal. Jacob Pangos of Truman State (Mo.) has a conference-most 19 points and conference-most nine goals. Aidan Smith of William Jewell (Mo.) leads the GLVC in total saves with 37. Jake Offerman of Quincy and Rick Lammerts are tied for a league-best four shutouts.
Southwest Baptist leads the GLVC with 170 shots, 88 shots on goal and 29 goals. The team is also tied with Maryville for a conference-high 23 assists. William Jewell posts a league-most 64 saves, and Maryville posts a GLVC-most 19 points.
ABOUT THE PRAIRIE STARS
Illinois Springfield is 1-1 in its last two contests. UIS lost to Quincy, 2-4, on Sept. 23 and beat Missouri-St. Louis (3-4-1, 2-3-1 GLVC), 3-2, on Sept. 26.
Robin Lemke Bergseth and Gentil Selemani are tied for a team-high three goals. Bergseth, Carter Downen, Adam Knaze, Leo Sanches, Cameron Frye and Donovan Faletto each have one assist. Kevin Kardel leads UIS with 32 saves.
Head Coach Graham Shaw is in his third season with the Prairie Stars. He has an overall record of 8-25-9.
ABOUT THE BEARCATS
Southwest Baptist fell, 3-0, to Missouri S&T (6-3, 4-3 GLVC) on Sept. 23. SBU then tied, 1-1, with UIndy (4-2-4, 3-1-3 GLVC) on Sept. 27.
Joe Wright leads the team with seven goals. Felipe Gilberti has a team-high four assists. Nathaniel Velasquez has taken a team-most 21 shots. Jan-Henry Schafer boasts a program-best 21 saves.
