INDIANAPOLIS - Peacock sophomore defender Arnas Kurakinas earned the team's James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award with the GLVC (Great Lakes Valley Conference) honors being announced on Wednesday. Kurakinas also earned the award in 2025.
The GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award honorees are student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing while also demonstrating good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. Kurakinas is now eligible to become one of their school's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced at the end of the academic year.
Kurakinas joins Florian Deick and Dexter Garrett as past winners for UIU. He started in 16 games totaling 1396 minutes. The sophomore recorded 12 shots with four on goal and an assist.
