FAYETTE, Iowa - Peacock women's soccer hosts (0-4-3, 0-4-1 GLVC) back-to-back home contests against Maryville (Mo.) (2-4-2, 2-1-1 GLVC) and Rockhurst (Mo.) (6-1-1, 4-1 GLVC) this week. The Peacocks face the Saints on Wednesday at 5 p.m. and play the Hawks on Saturday at 10 a.m. in Harms-Eischeid Stadium.

LAST TIME OUT
UIU picked up its first GLVC tie this past Saturday against William Jewell (Mo.) (0-6-1, 0-3-1 GLVC), 1-1. Giovanna Alexa Garcia found the net for UIU's lone goal of the contest in the 48th minute. The senior totaled a team-high four shots on the week.
Natasha Toxqui also added four shots for the Peacocks with one on goal. Aeryn Hatico totaled two shots with one on goal. She also had the key pass that set up Alexa Garcia's goal.
Avery Harding posted 14 total saves in the net between the two games. She had eight saves in the draw against the Cardinals. Harding faced 29 total shots on the week.
STATISTICS SUMMARY
Freshman Maryn Hudson leads the Peacocks in goals scored this season with six, and in points with three. She's accumulated seven shots with a team-high five shots on goal. She is tied for sixth in the GLVC in goals this season.
Haylie Hutchinson has posted one goal and a team-high two assists for four points. She leads the team in shots with nine. Alexa Garcia has totaled a goal, an assist and six shots this season.
Harding has started all seven games for the Peacocks and totaled a GLVC-high 64 saves this season. That also ranks third nationally. She's averaging 9.14 saves per game, which leads the conference and ranks seventh in the nation.
AROUND THE GLVC
McKendree (Ill.) (8-1, 4-1 GLVC) and Rockhurst (Mo.) are atop the conference standings with 12 points each. The Bearcats have won four games in a row and lead the GLVC in goals with 22 as a team.
Quincy (3-1-4, 3-0-2 GLVC) is third with 11 points, and Missouri-St. Louis (4-1-2, 3-0-1 GLVC) is in fourth with 10 points. Missouri S&T, Truman State and Drury are tied for fifth with 2-1-2 records and eight points each.
ABOUT THE SAINTS
Maryville played both Bearcat teams in the conference this past week, winning 3-0 against Southwest Baptist (Mo.) and losing 2-1 to McKendree. The Saints went 0-3-1 in nonconference action, all against MIAA opponents, before picking up their first win in the GLVC opener against Lewis (Ill.) (3-4-1, 2-2-1 GLVC) by three goals.
The Saints have the sixth-best scoring offense in the GLVC, led by junior Helene Braren with three goals, three assists and 21 shots. She ranks seventh in the GLVC in shots per game.
Sophomore forward Kelsey Wentland has also scored three goals this season, but has not played in the last three matches for the Saints. Senior midfielder Allison Estanich has totaled a goal and three assists while shooting 12 shots. Emily Doane has added two goals and 13 shots during her senior campaign as well.
Junior goalkeeper Agnes Vilen has started all eight games for the Saints. She's totaled 29 saves with a 67.4% save percentage and allowed 14 goals. Vilen has posted one shutout this season.
Lori Lawson is in her eighth season as the head coach of the Saints. She led Maryville to a GLVC Tournament Championship in 2022.
ABOUT THE HAWKS
Rockhurst had a six-game winning streak snapped by Quincy (Ill.) this past Saturday. The Hawks are tied for first place in the conference with McKendree. Rockhurst hosts Lincoln (Mo.) (3-4, 2-3 GLVC) on Wednesday before making the weekend trip to Fayette.
RU has the third-highest scoring offense in the conference, averaging 2.125 goals per game. Their attack is led by Caitlyn Smith and Jenna Roark, each with four goals, tying for the fourth-most in the GLVC. Roark has added an assist for nine points, which is tied for the fifth-most in the GLVC.
Roark also has 22 shots this season with 12 on goal. She is fourth in the GLVC in shots per game. Junior Julia Witt has added five points for the Hawks with two goals and an assist.
In the net, senior Sydney Schnarr has started all eight games for Rockhurst this season. She's made 42 saves and allowed nine goals for an 82.4% save percentage. She has the fifth-highest save percentage in the conference and is tied for the second-most shutouts with two.
Head coach Greg Herdlick has served as the head coach for the program since 1999. He has a 284-169-55 record with 23 winning seasons at Rockhurst.
