INDIANAPOLIS - Upper Iowa freshman forward Grace Kotewa earned the team's James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award with the GLVC (Great Lakes Valley Conference) honors being announced on Wednesday.
The GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award honorees are student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing while also demonstrating good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting. Both honorees are now eligible to become one of their school's two Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced at the end of the academic year.
Kotewa joins Rhea Buchanan, Mikalyn Hidde and Haylie Hutchinson as past winners for the Peacocks. She appeared in all 16 matches with one start this season, totaling 376 minutes and two shots on the pitch.
