FAYETTE, Iowa - UIU men's soccer (0-3-2, 0-3 GLVC) plays Lincoln (Mo.) (2-0-2, 1-0-1 GLVC) at Harms-Eischeid Stadium on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. The team then travels to Liberty, Missouri, on Saturday to play William Jewell (Mo.) (0-5, 0-3 GLVC) at 12 p.m.

LAST TIME OUT
The Peacocks suffered a couple of losses against GLVC foes last week. Upper Iowa lost, 3-1, to Missouri-St. Louis (2-2-1, 1-1-1 GLVC) on Wednesday and lost, 5-0, to McKendree (Ill.) (2-3, 1-1 GLVC) on Saturday.
UMSL scored its first goal during the 34th minute of the game. The Tritons later added two more goals during the 64th and 65th minutes. Midfielder Timur Nagy netted a goal during the 68th minute of the game, cutting the Peacocks' final deficit to 3-1.
McKendree mustered three goals in the first half. The goals were scored during the 16th minute, 18th minute, and 39th minute. The Bearcats took home the 5-0 victory after scoring an additional two goals during the second half. The goals were netted during the 84th and 90th minutes of the game.
Goalkeeper Noah Nymark-Pedersen posted nine saves through both contests. Nagy totaled 2 shots and a goal. Forward Jeremiah Goko took two shots. Forward Rodrigo De La Fuente and midfielder Santino Tapia Jr. each had a shot.
STATISTICAL LEADERS
Nagy leads the team with two goals, four points and five shots. He and forward Nahum Ghyslain Wellot Samba are tied for a team-high three shots on goal.
Nymark-Pedersen leads the team and is fourth in the conference in saves with 21. He also averages a GLVC third-best 4.20 saves per game.
AROUND THE GLVC
Drury (Mo.) (5-1, 3-0 GLVC) is first, winning all three of its conference games. The Panthers also have nine points. Quincy (Ill.) (3-1-2, 2-0-1 GLVC) follows suit in second with seven points. Missouri S&T (4-1, 2-1 GLVC) is third with six points.
Joe Wright of Southwest Baptist (Mo.) (3-1-1, 0-1-1 GLVC) leads the GLVC in goals with six and points with 13. His teammate Felipe Giberti has a conference-high four assists. Leo Cain of Quincy leads the league in both total shots with 15 and shots on goal with 15.
Southwest Baptist boasts a conference-high 123 shots, with 70 on goal. The team also leads the league in goals with 25 and assists with 19. William Jewell has a GLVC-most 34 saves.
ABOUT THE BLUE TIGERS
Lincoln lost their last game to Southwest Baptist, 3-1. They tied, 0-0, in their other GLVC game against Illinois Springfield (0-4-1, 0-1-1 GLVC).
Forward Jonathan Nemorden leads the team with two goals, four points and six shots on goal. Midfielder Jerome Lawel has a team-high 14 shots. Lawel, forward Makwe Nkoanna and midfielder Junior Grizzelle each have an assist. Goalkeeper Vincent Osei has a team-high 11 saves and two shutouts.
Head Coach Sammy Samuels is in his fourth season. He led the Blue Tigers to a record of 12-2-6 and the NCAA Sweet 16 finish in 2025.
ABOUT THE CARDINALS
William Jewell succumbed to Missouri S&T, 2-0, last Wednesday. WJC also fell to UIndy (2-2-2, 1-1-1 GLVC), 2-1, last Saturday.
Forward Daniel Pirillo's recorded the team's lone goal and leads the team with two goals. Pirillo, forward Hugo Nordenberg and forward Noah Jimenez each have two shots on goal. Nordenberg has taken a team-high seven shots. Goalkeepers Alon Miwidsky and Aidan Smith have each tallied 13 saves.
Keith Buderus is in his first year as head coach. He served as the associate head coach for four seasons at Colorado Springs, accumulating a record of 55-28-19 and three consecutive Division II tournament appearances.
