WATERLOO, Iowa - The Upper Iowa men's golf team hosted the Upper Iowa Invitational at Sunnyside Country Club on Saturday. The team placed sixth, shooting 321 (+33).
Jack Miller tied for sixth, scoring 78 (+6). Jayden Rios and Ethan Anderson tied for 15th, totaling 80 (+8). Anderson tied for the tournament high with four birdies, while Rios tied for third-most in the field with three.
Christian Burkhart and Ethan Cahalan tied for 22nd, shooting 81 (+9). Burkhart also tied fourth for the meet's third most pars with 12.
Joseph Grau tied for 30th, totaling 82 (+10). Owen Davison tied for 48th, scoring 85 (+13). Jaxx Johnson tied for 58th, shooting 89 (+17).
GLVC opponent Quincy (Ill.) took first place with a score of 312 (+24). Augustana (S.D.) finished second with a score of 314 (+26). Mary (N.D.) placed third with a score of 318 (+30).
Derek Andersen of Augustana and Quinn Bridenbach of Mary tied for first, shooting 74 (+2). Colby Robertson and Blake Arnold of Quincy, along with Dawson Melbo of Mary tied for third, scoring 76 (+4).
The Peacocks play in the William Penn Invitational on Monday, April 13, and Tuesday, April 14. The meet takes place in Marshalltown at the Elmwood Country Club. The season concludes at the GLVC Championships on April 21-23 at the Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru, Indiana.
