INDIANAPOLIS - Upper Iowa's Brock Zimmer earned the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Player of the Week award on Monday. He becomes the third Peacock to win the award this season, joining teammates Jared Hoodjer and Gabe Bombardier.
Zimmer slashed .846/.833/.1.231 with two doubles and a home run to go along with six RBIs. He reached on his first 11 at-bats of the weekend. He also tallied 30 putouts at first base, helping the Peacocks win three out of four against William Jewell.
UIU (15-20, 8-10 GLVC) heads to Springfield, Missouri, for a four-game GLVC series against Drury (Mo.) (22-16, 13-7 GLVC). First pitch on Friday is scheduled for 5 p.m.
