BLUE SPRINGS, Mo. - Upper Iowa women's golf placed ninth at the NSIC Preview hosted by Minnesota State. Lizzy Ellis took a Peacock-best 27th place, shooting 158 (+14).
UIU's total score was 651 (+75). The team shot 328 (+40) in the first round and 323 (+35) in the second round. Upper Iowa finished four strokes better than GLVC foe Rockhurst (Mo.).
Ellis' best round was round two when she shot five over par. The senior scored 81 (+9) in round one. She led the team with four birdies and 14 pars while recording a team-low 10 bogeys.
Addison Weber tied for 40th, shooting 163 (+19). Fern Babinski tied for 45th with a total of 166 (+22). Brynn Bonefas tied for 49th, shooting 167 (+23). Delaney Martin tied for 60th, scoring 172 (+28).
Missouri Western took first place, totaling 602 (+26). Washburn (Kan.) placed second, shooting 603 (+27). Augustana (S.D.) finished third, scoring 607 (+31).
Lanie Veenendall of Augustana shot 144 (E), including shooting on par both rounds. Ines Vandaele of Missouri Western and Susana Granados Carrion of Washburn tied for second, scoring 147 (+3). Anaka Lysne finished fourth, totaling 150 (+6).
