INDIANAPOLIS - The Upper Iowa women's golf team was picked 10th in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Preseason Coaches' Poll. UIU received 36 points in the poll.
The Peacocks were 13 points ahead of Rockhurst (Mo.) and 23 points ahead of Truman State (Mo.). Quincy (Ill.) was in ninth with 56 points and William Jewell (Mo.) was picked eighth with 58 points.
UIndy was picked first in the poll with 139 points and 10 first-place votes. The Greyhounds won their 17th GLVC Championship last season after defeating Missouri-St. Louis. UMSL came in second in the poll with 135 points and three first-place votes.
Sophomore Addison Weber had a team-best scoring average of 81.6 this past fall. She started the season tying for fourth individually after a career-best two-round score of 147 (+3). Weber tied for 10th later in the season at Winona State's (Minn.) The Jewel Invitational after shooting 152 (+10).
Upper Iowa begins the spring season on March 23-24 at the Washburn (Kan.) Invitational at Firekeeper Golf Club in Mayetta, Kan. The Peacocks host the UIU Invitational at Sunnyside Country Club in Waterloo on April 3-4. The GLVC Championships are scheduled for April 17-19 at Rock Hollow Golf Club in Peru, Indiana.
