ROCK ISLAND, Illinois. – Upper Iowa (0-5, 0-3 GLVC) competed in the Fred Johnson Duals on Saturday, hosted by Augustana (Ill.) (4-3). Mya Mendoza (180) still scored five points for UIU even after she moved up a weight class.
Mendoza, Eliana Callies (160) and Kylee Shoop (131) all wrestled for the Peacocks. During the dual, Mendoza wrestled up in the 207-pound weight class.
UIU fell 36-8 to Carthage (Wis.) (5-7). Callies earned three points for the Peacocks after she took down Josie Hosea in a 5-1 decision. Mendoza scored five points in the match after she pinned Jasmin Ocampo at 2:06.
Upper Iowa fell to Augustana by a score of 43-1. Callies earned a point for UIU, despite falling to Maryam Ndiaye by a decision of 7-2.
UIU continues its season's campaign by dualing in Plymouth, Wisconsin, against Lakeland (Wis.) on Jan. 11 at 12:30 p.m.
