FAYETTE, Iowa - Peacock women's wrestling participates in the Cliff Keen-Mike Duroe Invitational this Saturday at 9 a.m. The meet takes place in the Small Athletic and Wellness Center at Cornell College.
Cliff Keen-Mike Duroe Invitational
The invite features 27 teams from Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, Arkansas, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and Texas. No. 1 Iowa, No. 10 Northern Michigan and No. 17 Simpson and No. 20 William Jewell (Mo.) will be there.
LAST TIME OUT
Upper Iowa wrestled in the Lakeland Scramble in Plymouth, Wisconsin, on Jan. 11. Three wrestlers placed for UIU at the meet. Upper Iowa finished third as a team with 52.5 points.
Eliana Callies (160) placed second with 13.5 points, winning three of her matches by decision, tech fall and fall. McKenzie Tollefson (145) placed second with 11.5 points after winning by decision, fall and tech fall.
Kylee Shoop (131) placed third with 12 points, winning three of her matches by two tech falls and a fall. Mya Mendoza (180) finished fourth with 9.5 points after winning by tech fall and fall.
Wisconsin-Stevens Point, Carthage (Wis.), Lakeland, Southeastern CC, MSOE (Wis.), Eureka (Ill.), CIRTC (Ill.) and Joliet Junior College (Ill.) all competed in the scramble. Wisconsin-Stevens Point placed first with 132 points, and Carthage placed second with 83.5 points.
2025 Cliff Keen-Mike Duroe Invitational
The Peacocks scored 17.5 team points at last year's invite. Toyia Griffin (180) and Hills both finished in sixth place. Griffin picked up two wins by fall and tech fall.
UP NEXT
UIU (0-3, 0-3 GLVC) competes in the GLVC Duals at Grand Valley State (Mich.) on Saturday, Jan. 24. The dual features William Jewell (1-2, 1-2 GLVC), Davenport (Mich.) (0-4, 0-4 GLVC) and Quincy (Ill.) (2-1, 2-1 GLVC).
