Northfield, Minn. - Upper Iowa women's cross-country competed in their first 6K of the season. The Peacocks placed 16th overall in the St. Olaf Invitational.
UIU scored 462 points on the invite. Carleton (Minn.) placed first overall with a score of 24 and Wisconsin-La Crosse finished in third with a score of 57.
Senior Eryn Sabelka was the first Peacock to cross the finish in 27:59.2, which beat her time last year of 28:04.1.
Junior Katie Kraft finished right behind Sabelka in 166th with a time of 28:06.4.
Also competing for the Peacocks were Lisbeth Trinidad-Valerio (33:36.7), Cheyanna Thompson-Williams (35:56.0) and Rio Johnson (41:02.4).
Upper Iowa will have next weekend off before traveling to Dixon, Illinois, for the Sauk Valley Community College Skyhawk Invitational on Oct. 4th.
