HUDSON, Wis. - The Peacock women's golf team finished 12th out of 14 teams at this week's Concordia-St. Paul/Minnesota State Fall Brawl. Freshman Fern Babinski led the Peacocks, tying for 26th at the par-71 Troy Burne GC.

Upper Iowa shot 337 (+53) on Monday and 324 (+40) on Tuesday for a total of 661 (+93). The Peacocks were two strokes behind Jamestown (N.D.) in 11th and 12 strokes ahead of Bemidji State (Minn.) in 13th.

Babinski shot back-to-back rounds of 80 (+9) for a total of 160 (+18). This beat her total at the Wartburg Invitational last week by nine strokes. She tied for the team lead in total pars with 19 while adding a team-high two birdies, both of which came on Monday.

Addison Weber tied for 32nd, shooting 182 (+20) with a first round of 79 (+8) and a second round of 83 (+12). She tied Babinski's team-leading par total with 19.

Brynn Bonefas and Lizzy Ellis tied for 61st, shooting 192 (+30). Bonefas was UIU's leading golfer on Tuesday, shooting 149 (+7). That also marked the best individual round by a Peacock golfer during the tournament. She knocked in a birdie on hole six on Tuesday.

Ellis had the individual highlight for the Peacocks with an eagle on the par-four hole four during Tuesday's second round. She also finished the day with a birdie on hole 16. Delaney Martin rounded out the Peacocks with a score of 201 (+39).

Minnesota State won the Fall Brawl by 10 strokes over Washburn (Mo.). The Mavericks shot rounds of 301 (+17) and 298 (+14) for a total of 599 (+31).

Victoria Woytassek of Minnesota State placed first individually, shooting 144 (+2). Her 70 (-1) on Tuesday tied for the lowest individual round by any golfer. Addi Wood of Concordia-St. Paul (Minn.) took second shooting 145 (+3), and Emerson Garlie of Minnesota State took third at 146 (+4).

The Peacocks are back in action next week on Sept. 22-23 at Winona State's The Jewel Invitational at The Jewel Golf Club in Lake City, Minnesota.
