INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) released the 2025 Preseason Coaches' Poll for women's soccer, and Upper Iowa was picked 12th.
The Peacocks received 52 points in the poll. This was 15 ahead of William Jewell (Mo.) in 13th and 25 behind Lewis (Ill.) in 11th. Head coach Patrick Ritter enters his first season with the team in 2025.
Upper Iowa returns goalkeeper Isabelle Wagner for her senior season. Wagner ranked eighth in the GLVC last year in saves per game with 4.31. She totaled 69 saves on the year.
Haylie Hutchinson and Maile Kehano both return for their junior campaigns. Hutchinson scored three goals and had three assists last season. Kehano led the team in minutes in 2024 and was second on the team in assists with four.
Reigning GLVC champion Maryville (Mo.), with 188 points, earned first place slightly over Drury (Mo.) with 186 points. The Saints finished unbeaten in the GLVC last season with a 13-0-1 record. Both Maryville and Drury received seven first-place votes.
McKendree (Ill.) came in third place with 162 points. Rockhurst (Mo.) in fourth earned the final first-place vote and finished with 155 points. Missouri-St. Louis was fifth with 148 points.
The 2025 GLVC Tournament will take place from Nov. 9-16. The top eight teams in the conference will play in a single-elimination tournament with the top four seeds hosting first-round games on Nov. 9. The semifinals will take place Nov. 13-16 at Creve Coeur Park in St. Louis, Missouri.
