Upper Iowa to Induct Three into Athletics Hall of Fame

The Peacock Athletics Department is excited that this year's Hall of Fame inductions continue to be an integral piece of Upper Iowa University's 2025 Homecoming Weekend as part of the Homecoming Ball "Night of the Peacocks" on Sept. 26.
 
Three Peacocks will be inducted into the UIU Athletics Hall of Fame including Derek Oelmann (2012), Chris Smith (2015), and Cole Jaeschke (2014). All three will be inducted in the Athlete category.
 
Oelmann is the men's soccer program's first Hall of Fame inductee and the program's all-time leader in goals scored (44) and points (102) earning all-region honors three times. Smith and Jaeschke played together and led the Peacock football team to 12 wins in their final two years and a pair of winning seasons for the first time 15 years. Smith, who is the all-time leader in rushing with 4,347 yards and touchdowns with 45, earned three All-NSIC honors including the NSIC Offensive Player of the Year as a freshman and three all-region selections. Jaeschke, who holds 11 UIU passing records including all-time passing leader with 11,714 yards, earned three All-NSIC honors.
  
The Homecoming Ball "Night of the Peacocks" will once again highlight this year's Homecoming celebrations, which run from Sept. 21-27 at Upper Iowa. The Homecoming Ball will begin with a cocktail reception at 5 p.m. on Friday night. The Athletics Hall of Fame Induction will be featured throughout the dinner program.
 
The 2025 Homecoming weekend, themed Peacocks in Paradise, will include a pair of volleyball matches in Dorman Memorial Gymnasium on both Friday and Saturday evening and a football game on Saturday afternoon. The volleyball team will match up against Missouri University of Science and Technology and Maryville University over the two days. Following the Alumni Awards and Honor Class Brunch and the Homecoming Parade, the UIU football team will line up against Lincoln University at 1 p.m. All Hall of Fame members in attendance at Saturday's football game will be recognized on the field at halftime and a special tribute to the Harms family will take place prior to the second half kickoff.

Tickets are $85 and RSVPs are appreciated by September 12. Attire for the event is cocktail / black-tie optional.
