This week's Yoga Genesis Athletes of the Week honorees are Thane Meiners (baseball) and Haylie Hutchinson (women's track and field).
Peacock baseball has already surpassed their total wins from last season, as they sit at 16-21 (11-13 GLVC) in the 2025 campaign. Meiners played a key role in the game-four win over McKendree last weekend, blasting two home runs in the top of the tenth. Upper Iowa rallied with eight runs in extra innings to win the contest 19-11. He finished the weekend with six hits, three RBIs, and two stolen bases. On the season, he's batting .327 with 34 hits, including three doubles and three home runs.
Women's track and field competed at the St. Mary's Invite on Saturday, where Haylie Hutchinson garnered three first-place finishes. She dominated in the triple jump with a mark of 11.42 meters, currently the 51st-best in NCAA Division II this season. Hutchinson also claimed victories in two track events, winning the 100-meter hurdles in 15.59 seconds and the 400-meter hurdles in 1:08.18.
