QUINCY, Ill. - The Upper Iowa volleyball team (6-19, 4-8 GLVC) was swept on Saturday by Quincy (20-5, 9-2 GLVC), 25-22, 25-13, 25-22. Lydia Imbrogno led the attack for the Peacocks with 10 kills while adding two service aces. 

Kailey Porter had eight kills with two blocks. Erica Conger totaled seven kills with no attack errors to hit .389 in the match. Conger added two blocks and four digs.

Sophomore libero Morgan Block totaled a team-high 16 digs. Grace Fruzen added 27 assists, six digs and a service ace. McKenna Diermeier recorded her second-straight game with nine digs. 

The first set was competitive, featuring nine ties and five lead changes. Tied at 21-21, three kills and a block helped the Hawks take the set. Quincy jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the second set and never let it go for the 25-13 win. The Hawks hit .436 in the first set and .459 in the second set.

In the third set, UIU got out to an early 5-2 lead, but Quincy quickly tied it up again at 5-5. Both teams traded points until Upper Iowa led 22-21 late. Two kills and a UIU attack error set up match point, which Selin Turgut sealed with a service ace. 

Quincy was led by Susanna Beretti with 20 kills, while Janelle Pye-Blacknard totaled 18 kills. Elena Kasavica had 51 assists, and Beretti led the Hawks in digs with 20. The Hawks outkilled the Peacocks 58-30.

Upper Iowa had an advantage on aces, 5-2. Both teams had six blocks. Quincy hit .365 while Upper Iowa hit .158, and both teams had 12 attack errors. 

The Peacocks concluded the regular season next Saturday, Nov. 15, at Truman State (Mo.) (12-15, 7-5 GLVC). First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Pershing Arena in Kirksville, Missouri.
