LEMONT, Ill. - The Upper Iowa women's golf team shot 1,001 (+137) to take seventh at the cold and wet Flyers Fall Intercollegiate. Senior Lizzy Ellis led the team placing 14th with a career-best total of 241 (+25) at the par-72 Cog Hill Golf and Country Club.
Ellis totaled rounds of 83 (+11), 79 (+7) and 79 (+7), leading the Peacocks in round one and round three. Both of her 79 (+7)'s marked her best career individual round. Ellis tied for the team high in pars with 27 while adding two birdies.
Addison Weber took 21st shooting 245 (+29) with rounds of 85 (+13), 77 (+5) and 83 (+12). She had the best round of any Peacock golfer with her round two score. Weber tied for the eighth-most birdies by any golfer with five and tied for the team lead in pars with 27.
Graduate Delaney Martin placed 29th with a total of 253 (+37). She had rounds of 83 (+11), 81 (+9) and 89 (+17). Martin had 23 pars and one birdie.
Brynn Bonefas tied for 41st shooting 266 (+50). Fern Babinski placed 44th shooting 274 (+58). The Peacocks as a team shot 336 (+48) in round one, 327 (+39) in round two and 338 (+50) in round three.
Lewis took first place shooting 913 (+49) with the top two individual golfers in Sophia Lawler at 223 (+7) and Kendall Farm 225 (+9). Davenport (Mich.) took second at 927 (+63) with third place individual, Venetia Chap at 226 (+10).
The Peacocks wrap up the fall season in two weeks at McKendree's (Ill.) Bearcat Dual Gender on Oct. 20-21. The tournament takes place at Far Oaks Golf Course in Caseyville, Illinois.
