FAYETTE, Iowa – Upper Iowa men's soccer regular season concludes with a pair of games at home. The Peacocks play on Friday vs McKendree (Ill.) (7-4-4, 7-2-3 GLVC) at 2:30 p.m. and then on Sunday vs Illinois Springfield (2-10-3, 1-9-2 GLVC).

LAST TIME OUT
UIU split last week's pair of games with a 3-2 loss against Missouri-St. Louis (5-5-5, 4-4-4 GLVC) on Friday and then a 1-0 shutout win against Maryville (7-6-2, 6-5-1 GLVC).
Timur Nagy led the team last week with two goals, and one of the goals came as a game-winner in the closing minutes of the Saints game. Florian Deick recorded a goal in the Tritons game. Noah Nymark-Pedersen totaled six saves and his second shutout of the season. Alejandro Sanchez had two assists, while Abraham Navarro and Arnas Kurakinas each had one.
STATISTICAL LEADERS
Sanchez and Nagy are tied as the team leaders in goals scored with five each. Sanchez also leads the Peacocks in assists (six), shots (36), and shots on goal (20). Dexter Garrett paces the team in minutes played with 1,307.
In the GLVC, Sanchez ranks second in shots and shots per game (2.40), and first in assists. He and Nagy are tied for 10th in goals scored. Nationally, Sanchez stands 21st in Division II for assists and 42nd for assists per game.
Goalkeeper Nymark-Pedersen has recorded 45 saves on the season, including two shutouts, and ranks fourth in the GLVC in saves per game (3.21).
AROUND THE GLVC
Missouri S&T's (9-3-3, 7-3-2 GLVC) Mike Banasik earned GLVC Offensive Player of the Week, while Drury's (6-4-5, 6-4-3 GLVC) Camden Meyer was named Defensive Player of the Week. Banasik had four shots and the game-winning assist vs. Truman State (Mo.), and Meyer made four saves in a shutout of No. 18 Rockhurst (Ill.) (10-3-2, 9-1-2 GLVC) and allowed one goal in a 2-1 win over William Jewell.
Lincoln (Mo.) (10-0-4, 8-0-4 GLVC) moved up six spots to No. 15 and Rockhurst moved down two spots to No. 20 in the national coaches' poll. Lincoln, McKendree, Missouri S&T and UIndy (9-4-3, 7-4-2 GLVC) all clinched a berth into the GLVC conference tournament.
ABOUT THE BEARCATS – Friday 2:30 p.m.
Last week, McKendree beat Indianapolis, 3-2, on Friday and then shutout Lewis (Mo.) (4-5-7, 3-5-4 GLVC), 3-0, on Sunday.
The Bearcats' leaders in goals scored are Fredrik Christian Rugland Thulin and Adam Reiniger with four each. Henri Poll leads the team in shots (23), while Thulin leads the team in shots on goal (11). Lenny Dupouyet has a team-high four assists.
Goalkeeper Jack Franklin has 31 saves and a save percentage of 77.5%.
Head coach Scott Gyllenborg is in his 10th season with an overall record of 54-44-19.

Illinois Springfield lost its only contest last week to McKendree, 2-0, on Sunday.
Robin Lemke Bergseth and Jack Hudson lead the team in goals with five. Lemke Bergseth has a team-high 32 shots and 22 shots on goal. Spencer Martin and Aaron Sachse are tied as the leaders on the team in assists (four).
Edoardo Pinna and Landon Amick share goalkeeping duties. Pinna has 46 saves and a save percentage of 73% in the eight games he's played, while Amick has 24 saves and a save percentage of 70.6% during the seven games he's played.
Graham Shaw is in his second year as the head coach of the Prairie Stars with an overall record of 7-18-8.
