DECORAH, Iowa - Upper Iowa competed in the 53rd Annual Luther All-American Invitational on Saturday. Senior Katie Kraft finished with a Peacock-best 30th-place finish and a career-best time of 21:48.1 in the 5K.
UIU took seventh overall with a score of 178. The team's average time was 23:52.
In her return from injury, junior Jaydin Dettman placed 40th with a career-best time of 22:48.7. Senior Olivia Hamblin took 50th with a time of 23:48.1. Freshman Merrin Hanson finished 59th with a time of 24:24.2.
Sophomore Lisbeth Trinidad-Valerio had a time of 27:38.8. Senior Rio Johnson recorded a time of 34:21.2.
Wisconsin-Plattesville won the meet with 42 points and an average time of 20:02. Host Luther (Iowa) placed second with 66 points and an average time of 20:28. Iowa Central CC took third with 83 points and an average time of 20:55.
Iowa Central had the top two individual finishers. Zosia Zdobylak finished first, completing the race in 18:23.9, and Maddison Maclean finished second, completing the race in 19:23.8. Luther Alumni Flannert Cerbin-Bohach took third, finishing the race in 19:26.9.
The Peacocks' next meet is the Sauk Valley CC (Ill.) Skyhawk Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 3. The competition takes place at the Sauk Valley Cross Country Course in Dixon, Ill.
