ST. LOUIS - The Peacock women's soccer squad (3-10-2, 1-9-1 GLVC) started the weekend with a 3-0 loss to Missouri-St. Louis (9-3-2, 8-1-2 GLVC). The Tritons downed the Peacocks after scoring two goals in the first half and one goal in the second half.
Haylee Allen and Eve Russell both had shots on goal for the Peacocks. Jessica Ancheta and Aeryn Hatico each added a shot. Meghan Zwicker, Stephany Castillo, Melanie Mejia, Natalie Lima and Myriah Roybal played all 90 minutes.
Senior Isabelle Wagner got her first start of the season in goal. She totaled five saves for the Peacocks.
Missouri-St. Louis scored in the 19th minute off a redirect by Aubree Wallace after a cross by Karley Kinzinger. In the 38th minute, Julie Steiger crossed the ball through the box to Olivia Lautz for the second goal. Danni Cotter scored the third goal for the Tritons in the 56th minute after assists by Batalie Heib and Julia Lammert.
The Tritons outshot Upper Iowa, 18-4. UMSL had a 9-1 advantage on corner kicks, with Upper Iowa's lone corner kick in the first half. The Peacocks had five fouls compared to seven for the Tritons.
The Peacocks stay in St. Louis to play their final road game on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 12 p.m. against Maryville (Mo.) (8-1-4, 6-1-3 GLVC).
