FAYETTE, Iowa – The Upper Iowa women's soccer team (3-8-1, 1-7-1 GLVC) fell 3-0 to Missouri S&T (6-5-1, 4-4-1 GLVC) on Friday afternoon at Harms-Eischeid Stadium.
Prior to the match, UIU recognized seniors Haylee Allen, Aeryn Hatico, Isabelle Wagner, Natalie Lima, and Maile Kehano for Senior Day.
Allen recorded three of the Peacocks' five total shots—two in the first half and one in the second. UIU outshot Missouri S&T 5-1 but was unable to capitalize on its chances.
Freshman Avery Harding made her third consecutive start in goal and tallied three saves. As a team, the Peacocks totaled five saves, while the Miners had just one.
The Miners struck quickly, opening the scoring in the 2nd minute on a goal from Adriana Benassi, assisted by Grace Kohler. Greycen Erisman made it 2-0 later in the first half, off assists from Ella Kramer and Allie Workman.
Missouri S&T added to its lead in the second half with a goal from Nathlie Bello, assisted by Carlyle Bennett.
S&T held the edge in corner kicks, 3-0. Fouls were even at 8-8.
Upper Iowa returns to action Sunday at Harms-Eischeid Stadium, hosting Lincoln (0-7-3, 0-7-2 GLVC) at 12 p.m.
