Box Score The Peacocks wrapped up their only neutral site game of the season, in a 1-0 defeat to the Fort Hays State Tigers.
The Tigers made an immediate impact on the game, as Fabian Gylden Svensson scored in the very first minute of action on an assist by Tadhg Walsh. They added two more shots on goal three minutes later, which were both saved by junior
Diogo Cardoso in his first career game with the Peacocks. Senior
Preston Price recorded UIU's first shot on goal in the 19th minute, where his shot right down the middle was saved by goalkeeper Jorge Valentin.
The defensive line of both teams stepped up in the second half, as each side was held scoreless, with very few shots being on target. Cardoso added two more saves in the final ten minutes of the second half, finishing the game with five total saves.
The Peacocks will venture to Minnesota for a meeting with St. Cloud State on Friday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m.
