Former Assistant Wrestling Coach
Jordan Roths has decided to depart Upper Iowa to pursue a career outside the coaching realm.
Roths had recently wrapped up his second stint with the Peacock wrestling coaching staff. Roths was a part of the UIU wrestling staff for five seasons (2017-20 and 2022-24). He spent the seasons in between as an assistant wrestling coach at Indian Hills Community College in Centerville, Iowa.
During his time at Indian Hills, Roths helped to lead the Warrior wrestling program, which did not exist prior to the 2020-21 season, to a pair of eighth-place finishes at the NJCAA Championships. The Warriors boasted five top-eight place winners in each of the two Championships.
Roths helped lead the Peacocks to a fourth-place finish at the 2018 NCAA DII Championships and a Great Lakes Valley Conference Championship Title this past February. During his five seasons with the UIU coaching staff, he and his crew boasted 15 All-Americans and two National Champions.
The former 141-pounder posted 91 wins for Upper Iowa and was anchored in the Peacock starting lineup for four straight years. Roths qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships in 2014 as a redshirt freshman and in 2017 as a redshirt senior. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree in exercise and sports studies from Upper Iowa in 2017.
"We cannot thank Jordan enough for the impact he has made on this program as a student-athlete and coach," said Head Coach
Heath Grimm. "He and his family will always be a part of Peacock Wrestling."
