EARLY-SEASON RECAP… UIU has started the season with an 0-1-1 mark as they tied Roosevelt 2-2 and are coming off a 0-1 defeat to Fort Hays State. Junior
Fabio Bender scored the first goal of the season on an assist from junior

Daniel Pranger. Pranger would then score the game-tying goal in the 89th minute as junior
Florian Deick made a perfect pass to Pranger on a header, which he kicked into the back of the net. Fifth year
Daigo Adachi also recorded an assist on the play through his throw-in pass to Deick. Pranger as well as junior
Alejandro Sanchez lead the Peacocks in minutes, as both players have been on the field for all 180 minutes of action.
REMATCH WITH THE HUSKIES… Upper Iowa hosted St. Cloud State during the 2023 season, picking up a 5-1 win. Deick, senior

SCOUTING ST. CLOUD STATE… The Huskies have started the season with an 0-2 record and are coming off a 2-3 defeat to St. Thomas. Midfielder Mika Folstad led the way for St. Cloud State in their last match, recording a goal and an assist. Midfielder Philip Caputo added the second goal of the game and he led the team in assists during the 2023 season with four. Midfielders Matthew Greenland and Rhys Ward, as well as forward Yanis Smeg each added assists in the game against St. Thomas.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS… The Peacocks will stay on the road for their GLVC opener against Lewis in Romeoville, Ill. on Friday, Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m. Upper Iowa will then play their first of three consecutive home games as they take on Indianapolis on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 2:30 p.m.
