The Peacock Athletics Department is excited that this year's Hall of Fame inductions will be back on Upper Iowa University's 2024 Homecoming Weekend as part of the Homecoming Ball "Night of the Peacocks" on Oct. 11.
 
Four Peacocks will be inducted into the UIU Athletics Hall of Fame including Tyler Adams (2014), Sam Barber (1995), Tim Bell (1976) and Brian Black (2006). Both Adams and Black will be inducted in the Athlete category, while Barber and Bell both find their way into the Hall of Fame in the Coach category.
 
Adams was a 2014 All-American and three-time All-Region performer for the Peacock baseball team, while Black earned All-American honors in 2002 and 2003 for the UIU wrestling team and qualified for a third national tournament in 2006 after the University moved up to NCAA Division II.
 
Barber enters his 11th season as the Head Wrestling Coach at the Air Force Academy coaching 27 national qualifiers at USAFA, while Bell accumulated 527 wins over 40 seasons at Ar-We-Va High School in boys' basketball. Bell was inducted into the Iowa High School Athletic Association Boys' Basketball Hall of Fame in 2020.
 
The Homecoming Ball "Night of the Peacocks" will highlight this year's Homecoming celebrations, which run from Oct. 7-13 at Upper Iowa. The Homecoming Ball will begin with a cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m. on Friday night. The Athletics Hall of Fame Induction will be featured throughout the dinner program.
 
There will also be five home contests over Homecoming weekend including a pair of soccer matches for the women and men's teams on Friday night and Sunday afternoon. UIU will face Drury University at 5 and 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Southwest Baptist University at 12 and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday with the women playing first each day. On Saturday, the UIU football team hosts William Jewell College at 1 p.m. All Hall of Fame members in attendance at Saturday's football game will be recognized on the field at halftime.

Early registration tickets are $85 and are available now through September 27. Attire for the event is cocktail / black-tie optional.
