Peacock golfers
Katie Schweers (women's golf) and
Tate Carlson (men's golf) nabbed Upper Iowa's last sport-specific James R. Spalding Sportsmanship award for this academic year, presented by the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
The league recognized 24 GLVC James R. Spalding Sportsmanship Award honorees across both women and men's golf. The student-athletes chosen are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These individuals must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.
Schweers and Carlson are now eligible to become one of Upper Iowa's final pair of Spalding Sportsmanship Award winners, which will be announced later this month.
