THIS WEEKEND IN UIU BASEBALL… The Peacocks wrap up their 2024 campaign in a home series with the Truman State Bulldogs this weekend. The schedule has changed due to inclement weather. The teams will now play a double header on Friday and a double header on Saturday, both days with a start time of 12 p.m.

ABOUT THE PEACOCKS… Ethan Sawyer currently leads the team on offense with a .370 average and 54 hits, followed by
Gunnar Wicklund at .338. Wicklund paces the team in RBIs with 34, while
Gabe Bombardier trails behind with 32. Wicklund leads the team in home runs with 11, while Bombardier follows behind with nine.
Abraham Sanchez,
Brady Stevens and
Isaiah Maes have each pitched over 30 innings for the Peacocks this season. Sanchez paces the crew with three wins on the year and an ERA of 4.70.
Jason Jennerjohn trails him with an ERA of 4.97. Stevens has amassed the most strikeouts with 30, while Maes has tallied 26.
CONFERENCE STANDINGS… Indianapolis remained in first place in the conference race for two straight weekends, extending their win streak to 11 games in a row and clinching the regular season title. Maryville (23-9), Drury (22-10) and Missouri-St. Louis (20-12) follow in line behind the Greyhounds, each of them having clinched a spot in the GLVC Championship Tournament on May 11-14 in Marion, Ill.
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS… After recording an 8-24 mark in the conference so far, TSU sits 13th in the GLVC, one game ahead of Upper Iowa who is 7-25. The Bulldogs come into this weekend looking to break a seven-game losing streak after dropping four games to Indianapolis last weekend, and three to William Jewell the week prior. Dakota Joggerst leads the team at the plate with a .356 average and 58 hits on the year, followed by Colin Mueth with .333. Isaac Epp has thrown a team-high 64.2 innings with a 6.68 ERA. He has allowed 77 hits and has rung up 39 batters.
THE SERIES… Truman State and Upper Iowa have versed each other seven times prior to this weekend's meeting. The Bulldogs are ahead in the series 4-3, with the last game in favor of the purple and white (10-3) back in March of 2023. The first contest dates back to March of 2009, where the Peacocks came out on top in a 14-6 decision.
