Illinois Springfield jumped out to a 3-0 lead after the conclusion of the first inning. They tallied two hits and took advantage of an Upper Iowa error in the infield.

The Prairie Stars stretched their lead to 7-0 after the fourth inning where they tacked on another three runs, fueled by three hits. The defense escaped the inning with two runners still on base.

Upper Iowa scored their first run of the afternoon in the top of the sixth inning. Ethan Sawyer and Gunnar Wicklund started things off, each recording a single. With two outs on the board, Bryce Hall batted in Sawyer on a single to right field.

The home team added another three runs in the bottom of the seventh to lead 10-1.

The Peacocks responded with one run in the top of the eighth after Brock Zimmer batted in Sawyer, who got on base with a double and advanced to third on a groundout. In the top of the ninth, a home run from Gabe Bombardier boosted the Peacocks to trail 10-3. The UIS defense executed three outs to take game four, winning the overall series 3-1.
