THIS WEEK IN PEACOCK BASEBALL… The predicted weather forecast for Fayette, Iowa is filled with cold temperatures and snow flurries, causing the originally scheduled series with Drury to be moved to their campus. Their first contest is set Friday at 3 p.m., followed by a double header on Saturday at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Their final game against the Panthers will take place on Sunday at 12 p.m.

RECAP OF THE LAST ACTION…. Upper Iowa went 3-2 over the last stretch of games, coming out on top in their series versus Rockhurst (3-1) and falling to William Jewell in a single-game matchup a couple days after.
Against the Hawks, the Peacocks took the first three games with scores of 5-4, 3-2 and 9-3. They dropped their final game on Sunday to Rockhurst 4-2. Earlier this week on Tuesday, the Cardinals defeated the Peacocks in a 10-3 decision.
PEACOCK TEAM LEADERS… Gunnar Wicklund leads UIU with a .345 batting average after tallying 20 hits in 58 at-bats.
Bryce Hall has recorded 17 hits and
Ethan Sawyer compiled 15.
Jared Hoodjer has collected five home runs while leading the team in RBIs with 11.
Isaiah Maes has thrown for 20 innings and has recorded 14 strikeouts while allowing 14 earned runs and 23 hits.
Abraham Sanchez has been on the mound for 14.2 innings, ringing up 13 batters and allowing nine earned runs and 15 hits.
GLVC LEADERS…. Indianapolis is leading the conference race with a flawless 8-0 record, followed by Maryville at 7-1, while Drury and Southwest Baptist are tied for third at 5-3.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS… Drury's baseball squad is 7-11 overall on the season and 5-3 in the GLVC. Their last eight out of nine contests have been against conference opponents. They won their series against Missouri-St. Louis 3-1 and fell in the series against Missouri S&T 3-1. They have faced three different ranked teams this season; West Texas A&M, Central Missouri and Missouri Southern. The Panthers took two games off No. 8 West Texas A&M, trumping them 14-6 in game one and 13-10 in game three.
Wes Collins leads the team at the plate with a .377 and leads the team in hits after going 23-61. Luke Burk has drilled a team-high seven home runs and 23 RBIs with a .321 batting average. Cody Bahl has thrown just over 38 innings with a 1.86 ERA. He has rung up 32 batters and allowed 32 hits and 14 runs.
DOWN THE STRETCH… The Peacocks face the Bearcats of McKendree in another four-game series next weekend. Their first game is scheduled for Thursday at 2 p.m., followed by a double header on Friday at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m., before wrapping up their weekend with the last contest on Saturday at 12 p.m.
